MOBEC - SUPERDRIVE - System

The “New Generation” of Sidecar outfit, that includes a reverse gear as part of the package.

Mobec Superdrive opens up new dimensions in sidecar transmission technology.
The innovative reverse gear and a ground-breaking new design of chassis frame establish Superdrive as a new class of sidecar outfits

TARGET:
The main target for Superdrive was to achieve a universal reverse gear for combinations. Together with the newly developed ground-breaking 3D chassis our aim has been achieved and diverts the drive to the back wheel allowing us to include a reversal gearbox.
The backbone of Superdrive technology is the new 3D square tube chassis with the integrated reversal box. During the 15 month development period we devoted much time to the improvement of the modular construction, which allows for the integration of several groups of components and achieves the best possible results.

The following groups of components are standard equipment with the 3D chassis:
►Reversal gearbox, (reduction 1:2,36)
►Rear wheel drive
►Double wishbone suspension for rear wheel assisted by 2 bilstein dampers
►Sidecar wheel supported by double wishbones and 2 bilstein dampers
►Pick up points for motorbike
►Pick up points for several bodies

Additional optional modules are available:
►Two wheel drive Mobec Duodrive with off road reduction gears (1:2,5)
►Mono leading link forks with central suspension unit, and adjustable ride height
►Tow bar ISO50
►Front Crash bar
►Underbody skidplate

Production of an outfit:

To show the real potential of our design we have chosen a Honda Varadero long distance tourer a bike that is perfectly suited for this modification.
As mentioned before the assembly of an entire outfit can be done using the available modular groups. The chosen motorcycle, (in this case the Honda Varadero), is bolted directly to the 3D chassis. The steering head of the bike takes standard leading link type forks with two down tubes. The rear of the bike is relieved from its function of wheel control, drive, suspension and braking. This group of components is totally integrated within the 3D chassis and therefore this 3D concept takes all the dynamical strain of propulsion from the bike. Motorbikes with a chain drive will recieve a secondary box and a prop shaft to allow integration, the chain drive is discontinued. Our modular construction also allows you to choose your ride height from 150mm to 300m in combination with different wheel/tyre selections.
