3 Rod High Tech Combination
Three-Rod is a prototype of a visionary new category of vehicle
that rediscovers challenge and fun of driving a three wheeled
motorcycle.
Harley Davidson rider and enthusiast Martin Scheuffler had a
vision, using the potential of the revolutionary Harley Davidson
V-Rod model, to incorporate a futuristic design study. Together
with two renowned development teams, MOBEC GmbH (sidecars)
and SCALA Design (body design), he as project leader realized
this new vehicle and introduced following features:
*Monobloc handlebar design with intrgrated "Drive-By-Wire" features
*Electric shifting and foot operated clutch
*Display monitor for reverse movement, navigation and helmet camera
*Hydroelectric operation of sidecar front bonnet to achieve easy access
*to passenger seat
The top body skin of "3- Rod" vehicle consists of a carbon fibre sandwich
composite, the rolling chassis is fully sprung by Bilstein dampers and
utilises a MOBEC DUODRIVE system with additional reverse gear.
Forged BBS 17" alloy wheels shod with tyres 205/40 ZR 17 provide extra
grip and superb roadholding. Hydraulic handbrake, Xenon headlights
and LED lights features are rounding off this innovative concept motorcycle
combination.
